Local Authorities Social Housing Workshop on Upgrading and Building Energy Rating - Friday 1st April 2011 - Portlaoise

Local authorities in Ireland are tasked with the upgrading of a large number of social houses over the next 10 years. The AIEA, as part its involvement with the Local Authorities is recognizing the need to show best practice, and its Working Group on BER and Housing  run  a workshop for energy agencies and Local Authority housing staff with a view to discuss some of the challenges facing Local Authorities. As part of this workshop some case studies on best practice, or leading edge in implementing energy upgrades were discussed, in addition to some representatives from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government discussing the social housing plans for 2011 and beyond.
